Connie Britton plays both versions of his mom which is confusing because she still looks like the same actress to me. So if the point is that she was swapped out with someone different, I just don't see it. I mean I see the prosthetics and other subtle differences, but it's still the same person in terms of mannerisms and voice which is what really matters. Her face even looks the same especially when she smiles. But we're supposed to believe it's really a doppelganger of some kind. I could tell it was the same person without looking it up to confirm. I don't think it's off to a very good start for that and other reasons.
