"The Winter King" Cancelled at MGM+ & ITVX After One Season

Freshman series The Winter King will not be returning to the MGM+ streamer after it was axed by ITVX in the U.K. The series streamed in 2023 for one 10-episode season.

The British historical fiction series, based on Bernard Cornwell's Warlord Chronicles books, is set in the fifth century, long before Britain was united, in a brutal land of warring factions and tribes, where lives were often fleeting. The series follows Arthur Pendragon as he evolves from outcast to legendary warrior and leader and it stars Iain De Caestecker as the exiled, illegitimate son of King Uther.
