'Shardlake' Cancelled at Disney+ UK After 1 Season

Disney+ U.K. original Shardlake will not be returning to the streamer for further seasons.

Shardlake, a four-part historical mystery series set in Tudor times starred Arthur Hughes, Sean Bean and Anthony Boyle, launched its first season last summer. It will not return for a second.

"Disney+ Original series Shardlake will not be returning for a second season on the service", said a rep for the streamer. "We'd like to thank Stephen Butchard who adapted the late C.J. Sansom's beloved novel for the screen, the entire cast – led by the outstanding Arthur Hughes – and crew, and our production partners The Forge and Runaway Fridge. We hope to work with all of our partners across this show again in the future."
