Joan Jett is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and actress who has been a rock icon for over 40 years. Born in 1958, Jett formed her first band at age 15 and co-founded the all-female teenage punk band the Runaways in the 1970s. In 1979, she formed her own band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, with producer Kenny Laguna.
