Joan Jett is an American singer, guitarist, songwriter, and actress who has been a rock icon for over 40 years. Born in 1958, Jett formed her first band at age 15 and co-founded the all-female teenage punk band the Runaways in the 1970s. In 1979, she formed her own band, Joan Jett and the Blackhearts, with producer Kenny Laguna. Jett is known for her rebellious image and three-chord guitar style, making her a trailblazer in the male-dominated rock genre.
