Rhys Ifans is a Welsh actor and musician, born Rhys Owain Evans on July 22, 1967, in Haverfordwest, Wales. A native Welsh speaker, he trained at London's Guildhall School of Music and Drama before gaining international recognition as Spike in Notting Hill. His film credits include Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1, The Amazing Spider-Man, Anonymous and The King's Man. On television, he has appeared in Elementary, Berlin Station and Temple, and portrays Ser Otto Hightower in HBO's House of the Dragon. Ifans won a BAFTA TV Award for his performance as comedian Peter Cook in Not Only But Always. Before establishing himself as an actor, he also performed with the Welsh bands Super Furry Animals and The Peth.
