Born in New York City, Peter Berg graduated from The Taft School in 1980, majored in theater arts and history at Macalester College and relocated to Los Angeles in 1985 to pursue a career in the film industry. First appearing in 1988, he had film roles in Never on Tuesday, Miracle Mile, Quiet Victory: The Charlie Wedemeyer Story, and also appearances in the series 21 Jump Street, Ohara and Beverly Hills Bunts. Now known for working behind the camera, in 1998 he made his feature directorial debut with the film Very Bad Things.
