Matthew Rhys is a Welsh actor, born on November 8, 1974, in Cardiff, Wales. He trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London before establishing a career in British and American television and film.
Rhys is best known for portraying Kevin Walker in Brothers & Sisters and Philip Jennings in the acclaimed spy drama The Americans, for which he won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series. He later starred as the title character in HBO's Perry Mason.
His film credits include The Post, A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, and The Report. Rhys has also appeared in numerous stage and television productions throughout his career.
