Renny Harlin

Born in Riihimäki, Renny Harlin studied at the University of Art and Design Helsinki, and began his career in the film business in the early 1980s, directing commercials and company films. Together with his soon-to-be business partner Markus Selin, he began writing a screenplay called Arctic Heat, which evolved into Born American, the most expensive Finnish film to open in the USA.
