Born in Liverpool, England Paul McGann was 17 when he successfully auditioned for a place on the acting course at RADA. His breakthrough role was in the short-lived 1983 series Give Us a Break. In the television production of The Hanging Gale he acted alongside his older brother Joe, and two younger brothers Mark and Stephen.
