Jesse Ventura

Born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, Jesse Ventura served in the United States Navy, and worked with Navy SEALs as part of Underwater Demolition Team during the Vietnam War but never actually trained as one. He began weightlifting and wrestling while attending North Hennepin Community College, and was a bodyguard for a short time before becoming a professional wrestler. He began appearing in 1981 in WWF Championship Wrestling as Jesse 'The Body' Ventura, and beginning in 1985 was a commentator in Saturday Night's Main Event. In 1990 he held the job of the mayor of Brooklyn Park, MN in 1990, then ran and was elected Governor of the state of Minnesota on the Reform Party ticket for the1999 to 2003 term.
