Craig Melvin

Craig Melvin is a well-known American journalist and news anchor. A native of South Carolina, Melvin was interested in reporting stories and journalism at a very young age. He worked as a teen reporter during high school and bagged an Associated Press Award for his story. He went on to study at Wofford College and later returned to work as a journalist with WIS News in 2001. He started as a reporter and later worked as a news anchor. His work at WIS won him an Emmy award and made him a popular figure. Melvin next worked with WRC-TV, stationed in Washington, as a news anchor. He received his big break when he moved to New York City to work for MNSBC in 2011. Melvin hasn't looked back since. He is currently an anchor for MNSBC and a news correspondent cum anchor for NBC News. He has covered a wide range of topics, including Election Night coverage, the Rio Olympics, the George Zimmerman trial, and Republican and Democratic Conventions. NBC recently promoted him to the co-anchor for NBC's Today show.
