Anthony J. Mifsud is a Maltese-born Canadian actor, singer and songwriter who often performs professionally under the moniker Mif.
Mif began his entertainment career in Toronto, Ontario, Canada as the front man and vocalist for the internationally renowned and award-winning Canadian hard rock and heavy metal musical group Slash Puppet. Mif has released two records with Slash Puppet, the self-titled debut CD 'Slash Puppet' in 1993 on Fringe Records and more recently ‘No Strings Attached' in 2007 on Sun City Records, a re-issue of the band's critically acclaimed 1989 independent release ("The Demo") that garnered accolades on several hard rock and heavy metal fanzines worldwide making it to #7 on Sleaze Roxx's "Top 10 Best" releases of 2007. Other notable accomplishments with the band include awards for Best Toronto Club Band at the 1990 Toronto Music Awards (televised across Canada on CBC) and for Best Independent Video at the 1993 Los Angeles Area Music Awards for their hit song "When The Whip Comes Down" that along with "Rippin' On A Wishbone" are featured on the soundtrack of the 1994 Cannon Pictures film ‘Chain of Command'.
A versatile entertainer, Mif is also an accomplished actor (1995-present), who has appeared both nationally and internationally in numerous film and television productions. Cast alongside some of the biggest names in show business, his movie credits include such films as ‘Kick Ass 2' (Jim Carey), 'Just Business' (Gina Gershon), 'Foolproof' (Ryan Reynolds), 'Eye See You' (Sylvester Stallone), 'Detention' (Dolph Lundgren), 'Gossip' (Kate Hudson) and 'Dirty Work' (Norm MacDonald).
As a voice artist, his voice has been heard on a variety of video games and cartoons, radio and television network programs, and commercial spots across North America, pitching products for such sponsors as Bailey's Irish Cream, Hewlet Packard, Acura, Sony, Molson, Labatts, Chrysler, Ford, General Motors, Canada Post and Kelloggs. While writing credits include several local sport publications, as well as such national magazines as Fresh, Canadian Musician, M.E.A.T Magazine, Inside Soccer and The Soccer News.
