Michael Gilvary has been writing for "Chicago Fire" since its first season, rising quickly from executive story editor to executive producer. Most recently, he signed a two-year deal with NBC to continue on the drama series while developing new projects for the studio.
Gilvary's entry into television writing was through the A&E drama "Breakout Kings." Prior to that, he penned two original feature films: "According to Greta," a coming of age dramatic comedy starring Hillary Duff and Ellen Burstyn, and "Transit," a thriller starring James Caviezel.
Gilvary attended Emerson College and graduated with a BFA in film production. three pictures for Dimension Films, the Miramax genre division.
