Born in Stockwell, London, England, Roger Moore planned to become an artist, but switched to a film career after becoming an extra in the 1945 films Vacation From Marriage and Caesar and Cleopatra. Relocating to the United States in 1953, this extremely handsome man landed a guest spot in Robert Montgomery Presents, as well as roles in TV movies such as The Clay of Kings, Black Chiffon and Julius Caesar. and an excellent actor, he received a contract with Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer. His big screen debut was in the role of Paul Lind in the 1954 feature film The Last Time I Saw Paris, eventually in 1973 becoming a worthy successor to Sean Connery in the role of James Bond.
Sir Roger Moore died at the age of 89 after a short battle with lung cancer.
