Mad Monster Recap

There is no opener. In the invention exchange, Joel shows off an anti-purse-snatching purse, which ejects a gout of flame when opened. It's "Hell in a Handbag"! The Mads demonstrate a realistic fire-breathing monster toy that burns up toy soldiers.

The guys then sit through chapter two of Radar Man from the Moon, where Cody avoids death by the brilliant expedient of... ducking. He and one of his sidekicks steal a moon gun and get caught in a cavern when their pursuers burn the mountain down around them. The Mad Monster is another boring black-and-white movie, and the titular monster isn't very mad but it has very neat hair. The scientist who transforms his gardener, Pedro, into a not-very-werebeast is the mad one, as he uses Werebeast Pedro to kill off the scientists who scorned for him being nuts. Thus proving their point, but the irony is lost on him. Many dog jokes ensue.

-----

At the first break, Tom flirts with a blender thinking it's a female robot. He's not happy when Joel drinks from it.

-----

Joel tries to explain the concept of "suspension of disbelief" to Crow and Tom, who ask probing questions about the experiment like "How can the wolfman eat a full-sized human being and not weigh twice as much?"

-----

Simulating the lycanthropic transmogrification of the movie, Joel switches Tom's and Crow's heads. They're initially not very happy about it until they realize that their minds have become one. Joel hastily shuts them off.

-----

Joel hands out RAM chips to Tom and Crow, but they can't think of anything good to say about the movie. He threatens to shut Gypsy down to eliminate the Bots' free will, and they complain that Joel is bringing up ontological issues.
