Donald O'Connor, veteran singing, dancing and comedy star of motion pictures, guest stars as a retired song-and-dance man who becomes a key figure in the search by secret agents Jim Hunter and Marty Shaw for the assassin of an underworld personage. An important racketeer, Emile Teller, Is shot dead just as he is about to reveal in court the connection of a government intelligence agency to the underworld. The dead man’s alarmed partner, John Delacey, instantly goes into hiding to duck a subpoena that would force him to testify, and to avoid Teller's fate. Hunter and Marty must contact Delacey to persuade him to give them a lead to Teller's murderer, and it seems that only Lou Martin (O'Connor) can lead them to Delacey.
