Shining Vale

I find shows where there is no likeable character difficult to watch because you don't care what happens to anyone. This show is full of unlikeable characters. There is not a one in the bunch. I watched the 1st season because my wife wanted to watch it, and since she has sat through some of the bad TV choices I have made, I sat through this. Some of the humor will provide a chuckle. The imagery is sometimes eye catching and pleasant. The casting director cast two kids who look so not like their parents that they might as well be a different race, and although Courteney and Greg do a good job, there is no chemistry. You just don't buy them as a couple and worse yet, the writing is so bad that you don't care whether they stay together or divorce, or if one kills the other, or whatever. An example of the bad writing is the amount of swearing they do that adds nothing to the characters. The swearing is the old extremely overused attempt to use swear words in the wrong situation as an attempt at comedy, like in a church, or in front of children, but adds nothing to the characters and just makes you dislike them more.

I'm going to give this a chance .
