I don't know if this was funny in 1984, but in 2022 it certainly makes my stomach turn. There are several other episodes too which involve physical violence and emotional abuse between these two. A really unhealthy relationship which gets remembered as a great TV love story. But it's not.
There is so much wrong with this episode it's not funny.
Back in the day, was this supposed to be romantic? Every time I watch them now all I see is a toxic, violent, co-dependent pair of people who need serious help.
