"The Walking Dead" to conclude with expanded two-year 11th season

AMC announced today that its groundbreaking series, "The Walking Dead," which made history as the highest-rated series in the history of cable television and has given life to a vibrant and expanding content universe, will end with an expanded two-year eleventh season that will span 24 episodes. With the previously announced six extra season 10 episodes scheduled for early next year, there are 30 remaining episodes of the flagship series that will run through late 2022.

Paola Lazaro Joins 'The Walking Dead' as Princess

In advance of Sunday’s Season 10 Premiere of The Walking Dead, Executive Producer Dave Alpert announced from the TWD panel at New York Comic-Con the casting of a character that will be exciting news to the ears of fans of The Walking Dead comic. Juanita Sanchez, aka Princess, will be played by Paola Lazaro (Nunca Digas Adeus, Terra Incógnita).

AMC greenlights third series in The Walking Dead universe

AMC today announced that it has greenlit the third series in the expanding universe of The Walking Dead, an original drama co-created by Scott M. Gimple, chief content officer of The Walking Dead universe, and Matt Negrete, who has been a writer and producer on The Walking Dead for the past five seasons and will be showrunner of the new series. Produced and distributed by AMC Studios, the series will begin production on 10 episodes this summer in Virginia and premiere on AMC in 2020.

New ‘Walking Dead’ Spinoff In The Works, AMC Executives Confirm

A new spinoff of The Walking Dead is in the works, AMC Networks confirmed during its quarterly earnings call with Wall Street analysts. Asked to elaborate on CEO Josh Sapan’s mention of a third zombie outing, COO Ed Carroll said the spinoff is in “active development.” He declined to offer many more specifics, including whether it would fall under an existing distribution agreement with Hulu.

‘Walking Dead’ Renewed for Season 10 at AMC

“The Walking Dead” has been renewed for Season 10. AMC made the announcement Monday in the form of a video post, which can be viewed below. The renewal comes just under a week ahead of the Season 9 midseason premiere, which will build on the reveal of the comic book villains The Whisperers. The villains, who wear the skin of walkers in order to blend in with the herds, made their first appearance in the Season 9 midseason finale.

Season 9 cast updates

Brett Butler, John Finn, Rhys Coiro, Zach McGowan, Nadia Hilker, Samantha Morton, Dan Fogler, Eleanor Matsuura and Lauren Ridloff will recur in the season 9.
