it DID NOT air on JUN 23! don't know where you're getting you're info from but it's wrong.

According to BBC itself, the way we are listing it should be completely changed too as Episode 1/3/4/5 did premiere already and episode 6 is scheduled to premiere before Episode 2......

so this site will pretty much be the only place that lists episode 2 as episode 6?

idk just seems.. weird. I thought this site pride itself on accuracy over policy..

The site lists the episodes in premiere order, which is now reflected in the listing. If we listed episodes under the names 'Episode 1' etc, then we would still have the name 'Episode 2' but it would always be listed as the sixth episode airing.

It's because the original airing of this British/American co-production was on SKY1, and they did not use any episodetitles (as you can see by clicking the link to the official site on the main showpage).
When it aired later on NBC, they added episodetitles. However, TVmaze follows the original airing.

I agree that original airing information should be the default when there are discrepancies, but there are cases where this original airing snapshot actually does a disservice to the MANY viewers who aren't watching via original broadcast. Since the addition of the episode titles used in other regions/streaming/DVD is purely additive information that helps viewers identify the content they're viewing, I'd suggest a policy change to allow this information. After all, the episode number is already listed separately in the episode number field. It's not helpful/additive to duplicate it in the episode title field.
