I often keep a list of shows that I'd like to try out and see if they're to my liking, but that I don't want to add to my ever-growing watchlist, especially if it's a show with 5+ seasons that I'm debating watching on Netflix. I'd love to have a way to mark a show as "Recommended" or "Intend to Watch" without filling my watchlist with a ton of shows I'm not already invested in.
Tags require too much work with the current implementation. I would like to mark shows for future watching or ones I am looking for a friend to share, however to make it work and exclude them on the watchlist, I would need to tag everything I am currently watching with some other unique tag. It would be nice to have an option to show all untagged items and make that setting a default. That way any new shows I add for current wathcing already show up and when I run across shows that fit into other purposes I can tag them and pull those lsits up easily from the dropdown and only tag the ones that are special instead of everything.
Not exactly what you're wanting, but there's a pending feature for Better show tag management which would make things easier.

You could follow all shows you want to see on your watchlist, and only tag (and unfollow) the other shows. This is already possible - tags remain added to a show when you unfollow it - but just kind of awkward until we improve the UI as gazza noted. :)
Tagging and unfollowing kind of gets me where I want. Didn't realize it would work that way. Thanks!
