Two-Part Episodes as Single Episodes or Split?

I've been working on updating the image galleries and episode descriptions of Star Trek: Voyager recently, and I notice a few of the episodes (including the show's premier), are listed as two individual episodes when they originally aired as a single double-length episode. On DVD and on streaming services, they're listed as single episodes, and numbered as such, but they're treated as distinct halves on TVMaze. Is there an official policy on how this is handled? I feel like the format in which they originally aired and were released for home viewing should supersede the desire for every listed episode to be the same length.

Original production information takes precedence, especially if you can find original production code information showing the episode ran as a single double-length story. Let us know which episodes need to be merged and that can be sorted for you.

You can read our detailed policy on two-part episodes at http://www.tvmaze.com/faq/15/episodes, under "Episode number".

We definitely look at the way the episode originally aired, but note that we have a few different indicators that'll cause us to list an episode as two separate parts. If you believe that any show is not listed according to this policy, please let us know. :)

(If I remember correctly, the two-part Star Trek episodes aired with a break and a "and now for the conclusion" voice-over between the episodes, which means two separate entries is correct here.)
