Title Changes/Corrections need an AKA?

JAGUARDOG wrote 9 years ago: 1

I wish to suggest that anyone who changes/corrects a show title in the future after they have done so add the old title immediately as an AKA so no one attempts to add that title as a new show. I submitted "Hypnotize Me" because I could not find it here and it is because it was already here I was informed on my rejected submission under the title of "You're Back in the Room". That's all fine and good, no complaint mind you I'm just saying the person who changed it's title should have immediately added in it's old title as an AKA. I just now added it into that show so no one else tries to add it as a new show again.

This is only a suggestion for future changes/corrections please?

Thank you very much for reading my suggestion, Ron.

Hi Ron.
When you submitted the requested show, the original title of "You're Back in the Room" was listed with no AKA because I wasn't aware the show had changed its title, so no change to the title had even been made.
It was only during a search via google after your request that I discovered FOX had renamed the series.
So, doing a site search for "Hypnotize Me" Wouldn't have given any matches anyway.

Apologies for any confusion :)
Tony

I guess you did not understand what I said? I said "after" (not before) a title has been changed then the person changing the title should immediately add it the old title as an AKA, do you see what I mean now?

Right. I think what Tony was saying was the program had always been listed here as "You're Back in the Room" no one knew the title "Hypnotize Me" was the same program until you added a new request.

I think we all agree that if a title is changed, an AKA of what it was called before the change was made, should be added.

I know what he said! Because what he said is a given, in other words I knew that no one knew it before I submitted my request that was not my point!

I'd like to suggest that the AKA titles show up on the main page in the Show Info box
