Well, your policy says nothing about the image dimensions, except the minimal allowed, as long as the aspect matches the broadcast format, which it was. The policy says "highest available resolution", and this was the highest available I could find. I don't see it being replaced with a better one; it's just deleted for no reason.
Using the images the broadcaster/streamer use for that specific episode where they make it available is fine.
The image in question was made available by the broadcaster. So what's the difference? If they're gonna use the same image tomorrow on the website, will it suddenly become okay to use? Doesn't make much sense, does it?
Also keep in mind that we have a lot of API users that download and hotlink to images so scalability is a thing, so keeping the sizes at 1080p or 4k for shows airing in 4k is preferred.
What does scalability have to do with the actual image dimensions, as long as the image has a correct aspect ratio and meets the minimal requirements? In any case, there's nothing like that said in the policy, probably for a good reason.
