Hello everyone,
I think the show status should read "Ended / Canceled" if the show was canceled. Example: http://i.imgur.com/G9b8s7X.png

This has been discussed on several occasions, however none of the admin's are feeling something for it as there is now way to draw a fine line between canceled and ended on many series.
Just to clarify:
Are you asking the existing one to be renamed or a new status to be added?
Canceled is a word rarely ever used except for by the press.
@gazza911
If the show has ended without being canceled then it should say "Status: Ended" as it does right now. If the show was canceled then it should either say "Status: Ended / Canceled", or just "Status: Canceled".
In my opinion this is a somewhat important piece of information because I assume people don't want to commit time into shows, watch 2 seasons only for the show to abruptly end without anything being explained.
You never could tell if the series was "cancelled" or "ended" if you don't know, how many seasons was originally planned :)
There's also this new trend with failing network shows, that instead of getting cancelled, they don't get the back 9 order.
By all means they're canceled, but since they aired all episodes ordered they can't really be called that.
Networks (in the US at least) will never use the word cancelled. Ever. The only way to know a status of a show is to note what the network does. As Aidan mentioned, a show doesn't get a full season order and is never heard from again. A show isn't picked up again for another season. We, the general public and those of us who writer about it, say it's cancelled, but a network never will.
I don't see a reason to make the distinction, honestly. There aren't any more episodes, does it matter the whys and hows of a shows demise?
Totally agree LadyShelley, i think simply listing the show as Ended is perfect.
Only 3 types of status are needed:
Show is coming
Show is running
Show is gone
