Any info on Deception TV Show?

Cereal_Killer wrote 7 years ago: 1

Hi there, i'm creating this thread with hopes that someone has any info regarding the new ABC Show Deception, centered around a disgraced Illusionist and his work helping the FBI solve cases. I was waiting for the show since September, however ever since then, the only thing i have to go on is the trailer, no news, not info regarding the premiere or even if the show will even air.

So does anyone have any info?

I read somewhere on "deadline" that it will start during "midseason", which means sometime feb-march I guess :)

I hope you're right. This is the show i was expecting the most this season.

I've updated it to show as 2018 instead of 2017.

I checked around the ABC press site. Good news is they've updated the lead sheet so they probably still plan to release it. Bad news is there's no date for when it will air. At a guess I'd say March at the earliest, but it may have been pushed off to the summer schedule.

Thank you for the info LadyShelley, however doesn't lead sheet mean any time in the year that is set, which may mean february 2018, summer, fall or even winter?

It does, but usually once they are close to a release date, they add that info in the lead sheet. If it was releasing in the next month, I'd expect to see a date by now. ABC will have some holes in its schedule as The Mayor was canceled yesterday, Ten Days in the Valley is also canned, and Kevin (Probably) Saves the World is going to get the ax. Don't forget Olympics coverage also starts in February, so I doubt the network would want to premiere a new show then preempt it for two weeks so it's not competing with Olympics on another network. So I can see a March premiere date or I can believe it was pushed to summer. I doubt they would hold it to Fall has they will have a slew of other pilots to air by then.

I'm not sure I'd gamble on Network new and preemptive episode patterns. Fox, for instance, is doing something weird things with their American Monday lineup.

There's certainly less logic to it these days, that's for sure. It will really come down to how much faith ABC has in the show. Do they think it could get a decent audience that they'd want to give it a chance, or do they think it's doomed regardless and will use it as schedule fodder to protect other shows since they've already paid for the episodes they've got.

Most of the Olympic coverage will get pushed off to cable as usual, but the big audience events: figure skating, some hockey, skiing, and the like is bound to be on the main NBC primetime schedule. If you're ABC do you run repeats for those two weeks or carry on business as usual? February schedules will be out in another week or so, I guess we'll see then which way they decided to go. I'm expecting a lot of repeats across at least CBS and ABC. FOX and theCW tend to live in a bit of a bubble not really caring what the other three are doing.
