Other than Bo Derek, What is your idea of a 10?

There's been a push on to get people to do more ratings but I was wondering, what do you raters out there base your ratings on? Is it just a gut feel? Do ratings already posted influence you one way or another? Do you rate various shows/genres differently? Would you be more likely to rate if it were a simple thumbs up/down rating? Do you give many 10's or are you a once in a blue moon 10 rater? For TPTB, perhaps I am missing the obvious, but is there a way I can view shows and/or episodes I have rated from best to worst? (ie all my 10's then all my 9's and so on)

What, if anything, have you rated a 10? Either show or episode? For me, a 10 was the episode of Faulty Towers where Basil started beating his car with a tree branch when it stalled while he was trying to salvage his Gourmet Night ... just thinking about it brings a smile to my face and makes me laugh ... IMHO, pure unadulterated genius and comedy at it's finest.

Well, to give something a 10 it has to emotionally connect with me in a way, it should be pretty unique and it should be done extremely well.

Some shows that are a 10 for me are:

Twin Peaks

Mr. Robot

Naruto Shippuuden

True Detective

The Expanse

Babylon 5

South Park

Attack on Titan

Movies with a 10:

Donnie Darko

Drive

Let the right one in

The Girl with the dragon tattoo

2001 - A Space Odyssey

You noted a number of shows as 10s but no episodes. I assume you give various episodes of the shows you listed 10s but do you ever give an episode a 10 on a show you rated as say, an 8?

yes of course, sometimes an episode is outstanding, but the show overall is just good. For example I rated "The Magicians" 8, but the 3rd season finale a 10.

I've rated The Leftovers 8, but gave 10 stars for the series finale.
