Generic Episode Gallery Picture

I'd like to suggest that series have a Generic Episode Gallery Picture that will fill in for episodes that do not have a picture added. Once an episode has a picture added, it of course will override and replace the generic filler picture. This is just strictly from an esthetic perspective as, IMHO, a genric picture on a series by series basis is better than the site wide generic picture (http://static.tvmaze.com/images/no-img/no-img-landscape-text.png). YMMV

But a generic series by series picture has to come from somewhere and with the 1000ds of series we have, this would be alot of work.

"Many hands make light work" ... I also should have noted that if there is no generic series picture, the standard 'No Image Yet' graphic would still apply. I assumed if the suggestion was approved, gradually, bit by bit as people worked on old series some would add a series picture ... over time it would fill out.

I think people would just be lazy and set a default image, rather than filling in the episode images (even if they're available)

It's not all that bad. Most of the US and UK shows have the banner images on their websites, that would fit well. Also, cutting the piece from the show's poster would also work for most of the shows.

It could be done automatically, by adding a third image type (besides Poster and Banner) to the show's main gallery and using this as a default image for all new episodes. It also could be automatically removed as long as the user uploaded any image to episode gallery. Needs some changes in the TVmaze code, obviously.

I second this. And casual users and people unfamiliar with a specific show might not even notice it's a default image.

One aesthetic thing we could do that I think would be easier is to implement is to sort guest cast by importance on episode pages, so that guest stars are listed before co-stars.That way you both get the more prominent actors in that specific episode listed first and they are more likely to have a picture.
