Stop it. Stop it now. TV Execs need to politely, but firmly, show the next people pitching a buddy cop & [insert non-cop job here] cop show the door.

Unless it's me pitching my idea about a kids birthday party clown who goes on a bender, gets pulled from the drunk tank by the FBI who need an undercover clown to bust a crime kingpin via his kids birthday party and things go so well they naturally team up ... because, you know, clowns.

To be fair, at least Temperance Brennan had actual professional skills applicable to crime solving. (& she's based on a real person who is a fully equipped forensic scientist.)

And my clown doesn't? You don't know his back story ... are you a clownophobe ?! ;)

Do I have coulrophobia? DAMN RIGHT. Clowns are legitimately weird, they freak me out. Plus, if your clown has applicable skills, you should have said so in your pitch, you don't get crime-solving clown shows with shoddy pitches. ;-p

I think you've just described the next potential Seth MacFarlane series starring Leslie Jordan :D

You were too frightened to hear the full pitch ... as the series progresses, like an onion we peel away his layers to find out he is the Great-Great-Grandson of Sherlock Holmes (and therefore Great-Grandson of Nero Wolfe) ... a brilliant CSI who served in Iraq and suffers PTSD who became a clown to cope with his horrific memories ... did I mention the FBI agent is female and the UST builds and builds ...
