I read this press release to say the shows listed below already on TVmaze and the upcoming AMC Visionaries: Rap Yearbook and AMC Visionaries: Eli Roth's History of Horror are all 'seasons' under one show AMC Visionaries and not separate, stand alone series.

Before starting work that may need to be corrected, I thought I'd toss it out and get the opinions and directions from TPTB ... so, what say ye?

1. One series with, so far, 4 distinct titled seasons, or

B. Four separate, stand alone series?

Well, it looks like we missed this one http://www.amcnetworks.com/press-releases/amc-announces-year-round-documentary-series-amc-visionaries-focused-on-masters-of-their-craft-telling-the-untold-stories-behind-their-genre/

Previously announced series now falling under the “AMC Visionaries” banner include “Robert Kirkman’s Secret History of Comics” and “James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction”

Above says in favor of opt. 1 – single show.

But each series still have it's own separate page at AMC website, and none of them have "AMC Visionaries" prefix to the name.

Unfortunately we have no way to link each season to it's own website. So the merged series will not have an official site at all.

Last but not least – together both series have more than 140 followers total. Not many, but still...

Considering all above, my vote would be for option 1 – merge them. Let's hear what others would say.

We would mess up the watchlist for users with that, a really difficult choice...

That's my concern also. But what's worse – inaccurate information or temporary discomfort for a small part of the users?

The series have 6 episodes each. Marking them as watched/acquired wouldn't take much time.

Actually we could merge the series based on one of the existing entries (e.g. Kirkman's one, as the oldest). This way at least half of the followers will keep their watchlist intact.

If we only had a way to transfer/merge the followers... :)

Another thing that may occur to make things even more confusing, is the AMC sites noted above each say 'season 1' meaning if they have more comic and/or sci-fi they may be called season 2 ... meaning multiple season 1's and 2's for the "AMC Visionaries" series.

I'm truly agnostic on the solution, just playing devil's advocate. How about going with the second option (stand alone) and then 'fixing' it in the future when relationships between shows becomes an option? Think of it like Columbo, McCloud, McMillan & Wife, etc. Treated like stand alone shows but they were part of the NBC Mystery Movie umbrella/wheel series.
