Forum search it it's current state is very hard to use. Is it possible to add at least some basic refinement tools, i.e. limit search to a single forum/thread, sort results by date/relevance, optional exact matches only etc.

Thanks for posting this TNT. 10 months later is still the same as the site admins have higher priority items to deal with.
That said, I can't find anything in the forums about this "planned for improvement" in the forums either. Can you?
---addl info...
today is 6/5/2020, forum search still the same. quote in part of JAGUARDOG post about a specific show about a "3 years ago"...
Sorry, I can't read every single post in the Forum just to see if it is talked about and the Forum Search Function stinks!
@suemac Indeed, it's not great, but it will have to suffice for now.
Backlog tends to mean that it's lower priority and will be worked on when there isn't any other priority work planned.

Thanks for the reply. Its not obvious when searching, hence the frustration way back and now...by others and myself. I would like to help in any way I can. I don't see (likely missing it entirely) a contributors page - where there might be more info. Secret Society maybe? LOL!

Suemac

You can also try searching via Google;
site:tvmaze.com/threads Search
However, this isn't perfect either.
I'm unsure what you mean by a 'contributors page' (only David & Jan develop the site).
If you're meaning where the devs keep store their backlog, then it's private.
If you're referring to the ranks at TVmaze (e.g. Head Contributor), there is a list of who is in which rank, but not a public one.
If you're wanting to have a higher rank, then that's decided by those in higher positions, you don't apply for it (although the 'writer' position is done separately).
If you meant something else, then please could you explain further.
