Basic image editor

tnt wrote 4 years ago: 3

It'd be nice to have a basic image editor integrated, with a reposition/crop ability. I believe there had to be some options out there which could be integrated? Like the text editor.

For example: actor's photo is in landscape format, and the face is far from center. Or official show poster is taller than TVmaze expect, so the half of the show's title is cropped. So it'd be cool to be able to either reposition the image (and keep the whole poster), or made a permanent crop (actor/character photo) without downloading image for edit or using some online photo editor. Especially useful it could be for mobile users.

Sure, we could expand on this to help with things. But it's not going to be for any time soon. :) We already have quite a bit in our backlog to look at/improve in the coming months. We'll circle back to this at some point.

I tried to upload a person image and it says it's the wrong aspect ratio. That means I have to crop the image in a separate editor first before I can upload it which adds extra work for me. I would prefer to have the option that tnt suggests and be able to just position and crop to fit the needed aspect ratio.

so to simply crop the image, you need to download it, and then upload it somewhere else? really nice indeed
https://ezgif.com/crop is the best

but discussing existing online tools is not the point

I doubt an integrated basic image editor will be available soon :)
