How to handle remakes of specific episodes in the season?

In one youtube documentary series they re-did first 10-15 episodes to match the same style and quality as those that came after. Both old (original) and new are available for watching, though.

I was wondering if there's a way to add multiple episodes under same season and episode number? Or would currently best-fit place for this be under Specials? I don't think new versions should replace original ones since they're years apart and content is different (visual content, not audio). So, would it be okay to add the new versions under Specials, or maybe just add them in same Season 1 but under later numbers?

So you're saying they took the audio track from old shows and merged them with new video? What has changed in the video portion?

Okay, they didn't just use same audio, just re-recorded it (audio & video). What I meant is content and narrative is the same.

This is the show in question: https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/49147/world-war-two-week-by-week-with-indy-neidell

This is how re-done (marked as "IMPROVED" in the title) episodes now look like, here's the first one...

...and in their comment they also link to original one if you wish to compare...

I think they reworked this to show some new and better maps they didn't originally use. I haven't checked the new ones yet, will soon. Just finished recently The Great War series and am now going through Between 2 Wars, and will soon start with adding info and shots for WWII series, hence wondering how to handle these remake episodes sine I cannot add them under same episode number.

Anyway, would it be better to add these "IMPROVED" versions under Specials or under Season 1 after the last episode in season 1?

Maybe it's me, but I can't seem to squeeze this situation into https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/40/alternate-episodes. I'll leave this for TPtB to hash out and perhaps issue a policy amendment to handle a case like this ... it's almost like it's another show just reusing the same script.

I'm having a similar issue with Autopsy: The Last Hours of... right now. The show was originally produced by Channel 5 (but it also aired on Reelz) with a UK doctor and narrator but after a couple of years Reelz took over production now with a US doctor and narrator. So far, so good. This year it seems they have re-done some of the original UK episodes with the US cast and simply label them Re-Examined, so far i haven't added them as the originals are listed and as a documentary the whole premise and outcome are basically the same. But should they be listed after all, maybe as specials?
