As a feature request I'd like to request the ability to transfer followers from one show to another when a duplicate show is deleted.
I think it was suggested before, and even discussed somehow.
At the very least the followers need to be notified when the show they follow gets deleted for any reason, not only as a duplicate. It could happen that one of the followers has information that could prevent the deletion.
