Status of ended shows

When I'm looking for shows that are new to me I often come across shows that have long ago "Ended". When there's only one season I wonder if the show was a mini-series or if it was just canceled, then when there's multiple seasons I wonder if it had a proper finale or did it get abruptly canceled.

Having said all this may I suggest the following or something similar.

If a show was a mini-series (which most of time it doesn't say that the show was a mini-series in the description) have the status (Mini-series Finished) or (Finished) something to indicate that it had a conclusion.  This also goes for shows with multiple seasons and they had a proper finale, it would be nice to have some sort of indication of that like (Finished, Completed, Concluded)

If a show was abruptly canceled have the status (Canceled)

I don't know how you would implement this I'm not a coder.  I can't see you having your entire coding team going through each and every show that currently has the status of ended on the site and changing them one by one.  maybe have it where users that come across a show with the status of ended and they themselves now that it had a proper finale or abruptly canceled submit a change.

I'm sorry I know I'm being a nit picky here but I thought I would give you guys a suggestion that's I'm sure others may appreciate

There was already a suggestion about marking the difference between Canceled and Ended.

Well, the shows usually do not "end", except for the situations when the show is initially being written/ordered for a predefined number of seasons/episodes (mini-, limited, or event series). The network just keeps ordering the subsequent seasons until they don't. So one could say that most of the shows are canceled. The only difference would be is when it became known, that the latest season is gonna be the last - before the season's production cycle (which gives writers a chance to conclude a story in some way) or after (which leaves an open ending). But in both cases, the show is effectively canceled.

Needless to say that networks don't make it any easier. While they usually announce the picking up of the next season, they rarely talk about canceling, and that news usually comes from third-party sources. And several different sources could use different wording for the same show. One could say 'canceled', the other could say 'ended' or 'finished', so who is gonna determine, which is it?

And last but not least: a proper finale is a very subjective thing.

I think the only thing that could be done is to indicate somehow when the show is initially announced as a limited or mini-series with the predetermined number of episodes or seasons. However, it is not rare when mini-series receive more season orders after the successful initial run, so they became regular shows, which could be canceled at any point.
