BBC titles vs Streaming titles vs Third Party titles

In regards to being consistent, of the 13 RuPaul shows on TVMaze, only Drag Race UK and Drag Race Down Under have generic number titles. The WOW presents titles aren't particularly vague and even though they aren't written on screen when watching, they do highlight a certain task that is about to take place that week in the competition, ie. Snatch game, Rusical.

Other competitions shown on the BBC, like the Sewing Bee has Summer week as an episode title on TVMaze, even though it's episode 2 on iPlayer, doesn't have any text titles and is only mentioned by the presenter.

Great British Sewing Bee shouldn't have titles, as this is a completely BBC show.

I am glad that we are sorting this out here. Soon, no matter which way the decision will go, we will have clarity. :)

Definately will need a way of verifying that all the production titles are correct as well though, especially if the titles are behind a pay wall that not every user will have access to. Also probably be an idea to include edit wikis on these shows if we're using different titles from the official sources.

WOW Presents Plus isn't behind a pay wall but some content is unavailable depending on your country e.g. Drag Race Down Under not available to the UK because BBC Three has the exclusive rights.

@Nivekolsen what is your position, are you for the titles, assigned by the premiering network, even if they are generic, or the titles from any other official source if they make sense?

Sorry for the late reply, been at work all day - I don't really have a preference as long as we get some clarification, but for drag race it makes more sense to use the titles since (like mentioned previously) it premieres on both wow pp & BBC at the same time, and the titles are very much official!

I'm with TNT's summation.

Ok ladies and gentlemen, as the majority is for using titles in those instances, we shall do so from now on. :)

Please all remember, this does not refer to third parties like Netflix or Prime, they can do whatever they want, but if they are not involved in the production, we will still use the generic titles for those.

@JuanArango could you delete this editor wiki then?: https://www.tvmaze.com/showwiki/view?id=40861

Thanks!

I still don't get it.

If we are going to use the BBC as the global premiere of a show, then surely, the titles listed by the BBC should be the ones used?

If another network is airing the same show at the same time & has episodes titles that you want to use here, then that network should be assigned as the primary network, no?

Well the show is commissioned by BBC, and it's not available on wow pp (the streaming service) in the UK, only on BBC - so that would make less sense, since it's a British show...

The alternate lists should support global web channels to show global release vs UK release!
