She-Ra season 1 last episode question and where to add special question

MAT13 wrote 2 years ago: 1

Question 1:

In original She-Ra TV show: https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/9172/she-ra-princess-of-power/episodes

In season 1 episode 65 it says Oct 11, 1986 as release date. That is in the middle of season 2 airing which makes no sense.

I see that both wikipedia and epguides.com have this mentioned so I am guessing that was the source of it, but I've never seen episode from season 1 being aired in the middle of airing season 2.

Question 2:

I want to add "He-Man & She-Ra: A Christmas Special" tv movie as special episode - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/He-Man_%26_She-Ra:_A_Christmas_Special

However, I am not sure as to where I should add this.

I could add this as special for He-Man - https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/4230/he-man-and-the-masters-of-the-universe/episodes

Or I could add it as special for She-Ra - https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/9172/she-ra-princess-of-power/episodes

How do I decide on that? The movie does take place on Eternia and features both He-Man and She-Ra as well as Skeletor and Hordak.

This might have been an introduction into She-Ra although it was released in the mid of its first season and one year after He-Man series were finished.

Per TVmaze policy, episode numbers should always reflect the order in which episodes were originally premiered. So if this episode really aired on 1986-10-11, it should be listed in season 2.

Here's your answer. IMO it makes more sense to add it to the show which was running at the moment.

Okay, will add it under She-Ra then. Thanks.

But She-Ras has very different main cast, and in this special there are almost entire main cast from He-Man, so how do I handle them? Do I add them all under Guest Cast? Or should they be added under Main Cast just for this special?

If the movie has a clear distinction in the credits for who is main cast and who is guest then the characters should be added as such. If not with it been a TV movie each character may be credited as a star and our credits shouls reflect that too.

Okay, so specials' credits also take role in determining main cast for the TV series for which they are only special. Okay, got it.

Why you didn't mention that from the beginning? In this case, probably listing the special under He-Man makes more sense.

Hm, I just realised that John Erwin (He-Man / Adam) and Alan (Skeletor) appear in great many She-Ra original episodes and almost all of them as "credits only" so I think this does make more sense after all. We don't have any main cast under She-Ra and I never watched those so I didn't know He-Man actually appears in there regularly.

So, will add it as special for She-Ra.

How do you know they appear as credit only without watching the show?

imdb.com keeps track of that so you can always check it there.

Take a look at John Erwin who plays He-Man, for example -- https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0260008/

You can see list of every individual episode under any TV series he was credited and in episodes where he was only credited but did not appear it will say "credit only".

I just recently watched first two seasons of Castlevania and there were many "credit only" cast there and I can confirm that they are correct. I don't ever add cast from outside of the tv series themselves, but sometimes use imdb.com to confirm or verify some things. Sometimes episodes don't list actor/role relation so those things can often be found on imdb as well. Though it's always good to have another source. Of course, sources like wikipedia are not good ones since anyone can add anything there so it's not very reliable.

Okay, added the episode here...

https://www.tvmaze.com/episodes/2112783/she-ra-princess-of-power-s01-special-he-man-she-ra-a-christmas-special

...and similar to He-Man and She-Ra, only credits were listed actors' names at the end. About 6-7 in total. They seemed to have voiced everyone in this movie.

I've listed more prominent characters in this movie and added them under main cast for She-Ra - https://www.tvmaze.com/shows/9172/she-ra-princess-of-power/cast

All of these characters actually appear in She-Ra so they aren't unique to the movie. Only two exceptions are Alisha and Miguel which probably only appear in this movie special, but will still appear under main cast for She-Ra.

We were lucky that this movie special didn't have tons of cast, but for many newer movie specials all those cast should be added under main cast no matter if there are 5 or 50 actors listed in the movie, right?

Just pointing out that technically, anyone can register and add info to IMDb as well.
