Gender suggestion

I think that as a policy Other should be avoided if at all possible. So if someone's pronouns are she/her and they/them, female should be used as her gender. But what I see on TVmaze is that Other is being used instead which is total nonsense to begin with.

A good example of this is Bob the Drag Queen. We've already been through this and somehow I lost the argument even though his pronouns are he/him and she/her (when he is in drag). Obviously male should be used as he never said he is neither male nor female. But Other still remains his gender on here.

Another example is Demi Lovato who goes by she/her now but it still says Other in her profile on here.

Demi Lovato just fairly recently started using she/her again, so in her case it's more of just not having been updated again.

@dpratt suggesting someone's pronouns are nonsense is ridiculous. The policy was carefully curated because of the nature of what we were discussing and you're opening post already is bordering on transphobic. I suggest we shut this post down now @david, @JuanArango , @gazza911

Completely agree with you on this one @TomSouthwell We already had this discussion when the policy was created with a lot of consideration, no reason to start it again.

It seems to be the policy to always use Other for non-binary people even when they use he/him and/or she/her pronouns. Since other isn't a gender, I'm suggesting we avoid it as a matter of policy if he/him or she/her are an option.

Non-binary should go in the bio not listed as the gender.

I understand that people have preferred pronouns and all of that. This wouldn't disrespect any of that.

Oh no, we're not getting sucked into this argument again. @dpratt it looks like everyone but you is happy with the current policy, so you're just going to have to deal with it.

Definitely not everyone but me. People just don't speak up.

And it's not the same argument at all.

Being non-binary doesn't necessarily mean one identifies as neither male or female. That's my point here.
