Some features

5) You can already rate each individual episode, just go to the episode page and rate it :)

6) Is also already there, you can add the official site and it will be displayed as a link.

9) The aka for each show is already there, you can add the show name for each country

7) and 8) does not seem to be that easy to program, but david is the expert for this :)

1) 2) 3) and 4) are good suggestions in my opinion.

cheers
Juan

Juan and anyone else for that matter, If you cannot always copy the original POST or at least indicate the user's name you are responding to I can't always follow along with the conversation? I know you are not talking to me however I like to keep up on things around the site by reading the forum POSTS please? Or maybe something can be built in the Forum that always indicate to whom you are responding to in the far future as I am sure it would be at a low piority and it would be at the very bottom of the to do list?

JuanArango wrote 10 years ago: 1

yep, you are correct, we should reply with referring to the original post :)

cheers
Juan

(2) Setting a priority to watch.
(3) Adding a "Total Times Re-watched Series" and a "Re-watch Value" (from high to low).
(6) Adding official links of the series, IMDb link, and a place to show the rating it has on IMDb and other sources.
(7) Adding a category option, similar to tags, but this one public. The thing is, the Genre hierarchy is too simple, and categories would allow for a wide array of options, e.g., "Award-winning word", "Anti-hero protagonist", "Adapted from a book", "Multiple Protagonists", "Survival", "Strong Male/Female Lead", etc. You would click on a category and then jump to a list of works thus categorised.

2. Not sure what you mean by this? Do you mean another way to sort the episodes on your watch list?

3. What would this do exactly?

6. We already support adding a link to the show's official website. Don't know if adding more external links has any value for us.

7. This could become very chaotic and unorganised. If anyone could add arbitrary tags, we'd eventually add up with thousands of them, many of which would be pretty much duplicates. We most likely won't do this.

This has become quite a messy thread wih lots of suggestions from different users, and discussion about them. If I did it correctly, there should be a pending feature thread for all suggestions made here that are ready for adoption:

Being able to follow members: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/133/being-able-to-fr...

More detailed information for people: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/134/storing-more-det...

Edit the date you started and ended viewing the series: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/127/marking-episodes...

Private comments: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/135/private-notes-ab...

Relations between shows: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/136/relations-betwee...

Filter shows by (not) following: http://www.tvmaze.com/threads/124/filter-shows-by-...

Thank you so very much David for the information and the links as well, they are very helpful. I greatly appreciate all the hard work you guys all do and especially how fast you implement suggestions! I am very happy to be associated in some way with this great site and it's better than any STAFF!

I can't wait to see what you add next, I'm giddy with anticipation like a little kid in a Candy Store!

I need some assistance please in identifying which is North & which is South Korea?

I just now added information to this actresses profile - Yunjin Kim who was born in South Korea and I selected Korea, Democratic People’s Republic so I hope my wild off the wall guess is correct on her? - http://www.tvmaze.com/people/26408/yunjin-kim

I have never seen North and South Korea separated like this ever before and it may be the correct way to do it yet I have no way of knowing which is North Korea and which one is South Korea?

Korea, Democratic People’s Republic

Korea, Republic of

Is it possible to have this read better for those of us who do not know which one stands for North and which one stands for South, please? I also have a terrible memory so there is no way I could ever remember even after being told which is which? I propose one of these 2 enhancements to this Country showing:

North Korea / South Korea

or

Korea, Democratic People’s Republic (North Korea) / Korea, Republic of (South Korea)

I hope this is doable otherwise I will always be guessing when I put a person's POB in the system?

Thank you very much in advance for your consideration of my request, Ron.

Jan wrote 10 years ago: 1

democratic republic of korea = north. (the way to remember is that the word 'democratic' is ironic)

Fixed actrice

JAGUARDOG wrote 10 years ago: 1

Thanks Jan however as I said before I will never remember that? What in the heck does ironic have to do with anything becasue I know the meaning of ironic but no way would Korea ever be connected with that word that I know of? Maybe something you learned in College but me it makes no cents or dollars whatsoever?

Jan wrote 10 years ago: 1

The irony being it has the word 'democracy' in its name while in reality it's a 'thanatocracy'. The former leaders who have died are supposedly still in power. There is no democratic process involved in the choosing of a new governing body.

JuanArango wrote 10 years ago: 1

Or to say it very simple:

North Korea = asshole country with a dictatorship from an insane leader

South Korea = civilized democratic country who is under the protection of the USA

Juan

Juan, do you kiss your Mother with that filthy mouth?

deleted wrote 10 years ago: 1

By the way Ron, it is quite easy to determine whether it is North or South as North has a reference in their name with the word 'People'. It's a tendency for communistic parties to add to their name :)

Juan, do you kiss your Mother with that filthy mouth?

well, North Korea is one of the most evil countries on this planet...

In my personal opinion I would say they rank 2nd behind RED China!

China isn't so bad anymore as it used to be. Of course it has a specific level of censorship (but much lower than before). They are allowed to travel or to watch a western movie. You could earn lots of money nowadays and there is quite a high level of entertainment for tourists and civilians. I guess China won't be as bad as it was anymore. North Korea and some other countries like Saudi perhaps are definitely more worse than China.

Should we now change the name of this Forum to the "Political SoapBox"?

david wrote 10 years ago: 1

Regarding the technicalities: we use the official ISO 3166 list of countries. I have to agree it's not the most obvious choice of names for the Korea's, but those are indeed the two country's official names.

Here are 2 features I would like to see added/implemented here not only for myself but I believe they would be a great site improvement as well as speeding up our input process.

Would it be possible to add 2 new columns/rows to the “Episode List” screen please?

1. I would like a row titled “Summary?” – Then in the Episode # part of the screen it has a small checkmark on any episode that currently DOES HAVE A SUMMARY

Also would it be possible to add this as well to the same screen

2.. I would like a row titled “Screen Shot/Photo” – Then in the Episode # part of the screen it has a small checkmark on any episode that currently DOES HAVE A SCREENSHOT/PHOTO.

I believe the 1st one is very important to us that do most of the input. For myself when I look at a list I like to click on the next Episode and if there is no summary add one. I then click on the « Previous Ep. Link to see if the previous episode needs a summary added or not? I usually go on and add many summaries to that show until I either get to an episode that has one or I decide I have spent enough time on this show I need to move on to another one now.

I don't think it would be a good idea to add it next to those episode lists. I guess you'd better be able to add a new tool like they did with shows missing info/genre, however I guess there's no hurry to add it as there's still plenty of editing work to do :)
