It did air and we recorded it, but they had previously announced in their on-air promos that Ep 8 was the season finale (with the Komodo dragon).  With all of the "Secrets of the Zoo" shows, Nat Geo Wild seems to name and air a lot of clip shows, but then they don't put them on the Nat Geo website I believe because they're not new episodes.  I believe everything after Ep 8 is going to be clip shows they're making just to "fake extend" the season.  I glanced at this episode but didn't watch it all the way through yet, but I'm pretty sure it's scenes that we have seen before.

Oh ok, so there was no new material in it?

There seems to be some confusion about Euphoria in various places, including TV Maze.  HBO put a press release out on 10/19/20 saying there would be 2 special episodes.  They gave the date for the first one as 12/06/20 and the episode name "Trouble Don't Last Always".  The press release said that the second episode name and air date would be announced at a later date.  Then tonight the first special episode aired.  On Titan TV, TV Guide and TV Maze websites, it is listed as "Trouble Don't Last Always".  But on Futon Critic and on HBO Max it is listed as "Special Episode Part 1: Rue".  So I'm guessing that HBO Max would be the right one to go with.  All of the sites have the same general episode description: "In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, Rue celebrates Christmas."  In addition, in the TV Maze Episode Guide, it just shows up as ep # S, not S1 or S01.  Wondering if that is correct also.  If it is only "S", then when the second special episode does air, will it also be listed as "S" just with a different episode name and air date?  Thanks!

will fix that now, thank you :)

Thank you! I'm following the series, but it's not showing up in my calendar or countdown. Weird.

that's because I've added it for 2020 instead of 2021 :)
should be fine now

There was nothing to fix, but now there is. Maybe you'll start checking with official sources every once in a while?

https://pressroom.warnermedia.com/us/media-release/hbo-0/stream-euphoria-special-episode-early-hbo-max

Written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson, the first episode, titled "Trouble Don't Last Always,” also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in season one. The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming.

The first special episode is listed on the HBO website exactly as specified in the press release https://www.hbo.com/euphoria/trouble-dont-last-always

The second special episode is definitely NOT released yet, because it is not even announced. So it should've not been added at all.

so?

https://www.tvmaze.com/faq/15/episodes

In some cases, there might be multiple sources that conflict with each other. When that happens, they should be considered in the following order:

1. Data shown on-screen during the episode's announcement, intro, or credits
2. Data in a press release or press kit
3. Data on the show's official website
4. Data in TV guides/TV listings/EPG's for the show's country
5. Statements by show crew in articles / interviews

And even the show's official website in this case would be HBO, not HBO Max.
The second special is listed nowhere.

I mentioned this before, but just wanted to double check, Disney+ in the UK is airing Season 3 of Marvel's Spider-Man. They are airing each one hour episode in two separate parts, with separate credit blocks at the beginning and end of each episode. When adding cast/crew to the US airings, (which @tnt checked and confirmed they aren't airing as two half hour blocks), I'm correct in thinking I need to add all cast and crew for the two separate episodes in the UK to the one episode for the US airing, right?

If it really airs as one episode without having different crew credits for the parts, then yes :)

Done, as it seems to be only a clip show and is not listed on the official page as mentioned above :)

I have no way of checking the original American broadcast, but @tnt checked it out before for me and said it was airing as one episode :).

ok then we have to follow it, tho it would be cool to know how they are doing it if there are different writers and directors for the segments.

The version I'm watching is literally different cast and crew (animators even some producers, never mind writers and directors) for each 30 minute segment. The 10 second opening credit sequence plays and the end credits are about 40 seconds for each 30 minute episode.

That sounds really weird, but as @tnt has checked the US airings we should follow what he said, maybe he can tell us how they deal with different cast and crew in the US releases.

Also on HBO Max, it has an extra for the episode called "Euphoria: Trouble Don't Last Always: Featurette" so they don't know what they want to call it anyway. Strictly speaking, it's not an HBO Max series anyway, and the special only aired on there early and then aired on HBO 2 days later and HBO calls it "Trouble Don't Always Last". If I had to guess, maybe that's the name of both episodes and the next will be something like TDAL Part 2: -name- and then HBO Max got confused. We'll see when it's announced, but shouldn't we be using HBO's name and air date info over HBO Max? Same for Industry, HBO Max released the last 5 episodes early and it was changed to HBO Max here, but it's airing weekly on HBO so shouldn't we keep it HBO if it's an HBO series?

I had the same question about Industry, but because HBO Max had more episode premieres than HBO (5 to 3), it's considered an HBO Max series by TVMaze standards; see this forum: Industry moves from HBO to HBO MAX mid-season

And as @tnt said earlier in this thread; data in press releases is valued more than data on the official website, and the press release calls it Trouble Don't Always Last.
