Not really just a new name, it's more of a rebrand than a rename in the same way Style became Esquire. Some of the DIY shows will stay, basically what fits the new direction well enough, but some were cancelled more or less to make room for the new stuff from Chip and Joanna.
But yeah, if they can launch a streaming service they could have just as easily launched the network and not had to do this "preview" on Discovery+. The commercials also make it sound like Property Brothers: Forever Home will move to Disc+

I tried to edit the season but it will not let me add a duplicate or blank episode number. Would I be allowed to change all of the subsequent numbers to make room for this episode?

It would let you change this, but I think that episode is not missing, even as IMDB is not an official source I do not see any episode listed there on July 3rd.

Well this is odd. This episode does show up as a two hour version on KCET and is listed on PBS (https://www.kpbs.org/news/2018/jan/08/nova-black-hole-apocalypse/) but as a different name. I recorded the show with WMC on 7/3/19 as one hour long. I also have the "apocalypse" show (2 hours) as S45E01. In scanning the video, it looks like "Universe" is a re-edit of the two hour show, but also with some new pieces put in... I guess a re-mix version...
I'm not sure what to do here as I was able to edit episode numbers already. I think those edits will not be approved, so maybe I just need to sit tight...

In Fairy Tail special season, the 3rd episode "Towa no Kizuna" doesn't seem to be a real OVA but a credit opening. I think it's pretty safe to delete it.

Someone more into Anime/Manga should probably check all the listed specials on TVmaze, as afaik OVA's aren't supposed to be included here at all.
And it appears that some or most of them are added by the same user, so perhaps that needs to be addressed too?
