Ratings Roundup for the Week of January 16, 2022

CBS was the first network to cancel a veteran show last week. The network announced that Bull would end after its current sixth season. Rating for the Michael Weatherly drama sank after it lost its Tuesday time slot behind NCIS. The show also had several run-ins with bad press which eventually led to the firing of actor Freddy Rodriguez and showrunner Glenn Gordon Caron at the end of season five. Good Sam gained a ratings tenth, though its audience numbers remained the same. It will play out whatever episodes CBS bought and then quietly fade away. Ghosts was up a tenth and should be an easy renewal. NCIS: Hawai'i has not performed as well as the network hoped, but with the possible cancellation of NCIS: Los Angeles, it might squeak a second season.

ABC had a rare NFL game last week that gave it a bit of a boost. The Wild Card Game didn't pull in the same numbers as other playoff games but did well enough to take the top slot. Judge Steve Harvey slipped a tenth. Abbott Elementary was even. Both shows will likely be renewed. The Wonder Years dropped another tenth and four hundred thousand viewers. It will probably be renewed, but it can't afford to lose any more audience. Queens has one more episode before it's done. Home Economics is currently the lowest-rated comedy, and its chances of renewal are slim.

NBC had a quiet week. American Auto and Grand Crew both lost a ratings tenth last week. American Auto may squeak a renewal. Grand Crew is likely done. By the way, if you're wondering how a repeat of Grand Crew did better than the regularly scheduled original episode, the rerun aired in front of the Wild Card Game. Kenan picked up a ratings tenth, but its audience numbers remained flat. Things are not looking good for that show, either. Law & Order: Organised Crime was even with the previous week and should be renewed. Ordinary Joe has one more episode before it fades away.

FOX ran mostly repeats last week. Call Me Kat held its audience from the previous week, but those numbers are awfully low. Pivoting picked up a tenth, but the audience numbers were steady at one million. Not enough to get a second season. I Can See Your Voice dropped a tenth and three hundred thousand viewers.

The CW had two shows with more than a million viewers last week and a third that was pretty close. Those CW execs have to celebrate where they can. Superman & Lois held its premiere numbers. Walker picked up a hundred thousand viewers over last week. Penn & Teller: Fool Us was even. Naomi lost a hundred thousand viewers off its premiere but should be an easy renewal (assuming there's still a network to renew it). Two Sentence Horror Stories opened its third season with terrible numbers.

Networks have likely made their decisions regarding shows that aired in the fall. Are your favorites safe for another season?

Where does that air? Looking at the network numbers for yesterday, there's nothing with that name that aired on the 24th.
