Ratings Roundup for the Week of December 11, 2022

NBC announced it was renewing Quantum Leap for a second season last week. Fans can sit back and enjoy the rest of the season knowing the show is safe. The Voice wrapped its season last week, picking up an additional four hundred thousand viewers. Lopez vs Lopez dropped most of a ratings tenth, but it picked up a couple hundred thousand viewers. Young Rock also lost ratings ground but found three hundred thousand viewers over the previous week.

ABC premiered The Parent Test last week. The reality series opened high against repeats and holiday fare, but that position probably won't hold once regular programming returns. The Great Christmas Light Fight wrapped its season, down from the previous week. The Good Doctor picked up four hundred thousand viewers. Attempts to hype the new Avatar movie did the network no favors. Running the first movie and a making of special for the second film cost the network a few million viewers each night.

FOX wrapped the second season of The Cleaning Lady with back-to-back episodes. The show picked up six hundred thousand viewers for its finale. The series hasn't had bad ratings, but it hasn't had very good ones either. Chances are, though, that it will probably be renewed. LEGO Masters also wrapped its season last week, and it has already been renewed for another season. The network execs apparently didn't learn their lesson the first time, and reran the same two low-rated episodes of Housebroken again last week in place of Hell's Kitchen, costing them more than a million viewers.

I suppose they could make the argument they needed something to fill the holiday gap. To which my reply would be make more Prep and Landing, guys. You have an Emmy-award-winning little holiday series there and you're just letting it wither.

exactly.

I totally agree. It’s just not funny and why they ordered another season … appealing to kids? Not so sure, my nephew is seven and he got bored.

Could not believe it when I saw D+ had given The Santa Clauses a second season. I loved the original movie. The second one was okay. After that, they went downhill quickly. I think I'll choose to keep my happy memories (and annual watch of the first film) intact and skip this.

See you on the flip side!

New Amsterdam is wrapping up its final season; only three episodes to go. A Million Little Things and The Flash are returning for the final season. Fire Country received a full season order, is doing very well, and people love firefighter shows; so its chances of a season 2 renewal are excellent. Ghosts is doing great; it's almost certain that it will be renewed for a third season. Quantum Leap received a full season order and has already been renewed for a second season. Hopefully it will take the chance the fix its issues. All in all, I'm glad my favorite network TV shows will not get cancelled this year.

I finally got the chance to watch The Santa Clauses. I do not recommend it. The first episode was boring and weird. After that, it got a little better but not to the point that I would consider it worth watching. It's slow and not very funny. But then again I may be on the wrong here. Disney+ seems to have liked it and gave it a season 2 renewal. Well...

Thanks for this year's final ratings roundup, @LadyShelley!

Happy holidays!!! 😃

Fire Country's premier was great but subsequent episodes kept going down hill. its boring and I'm not invested in the characters at all ..All i can think is Max Thieriot left Seal Team for this  ...Its a shame really the show has potential , it just needs better writing

I haven't watched it to offer an opinion. They are short seasons, though.

I might give it a try. I have one more episode to finish of "The Sister."

Will probably pass on the Santa Clauses. I love the original movie, it's one we watch every holiday, but the series looks ... yeah. If you do give it a shot, I'd be interested in what you think of it.
