ABC had a couple of interesting announcements last week. Dancing with the Stars will return to the main network next season, while also getting a same-day simulcast on Disney+. More interesting was the news that 9-1-1, a solid ratings winner for FOX, would be moving networks for its seventh season, joining the ABC lineup. The network also got the ball rolling on season finales last week, wrapping the season for about half of its schedule. The Rookie finished its season on an up note, gaining both ratings hundreths and nearly a million viewers for its finale. The Rookie: Feds picked up half a million viewers for its seasonal bow. The Wednesday comedies all wrapped up as well. Still no word on a renewal for The Conners, The Rookie: Feds, and Not Dead Yet. The Conners and The Rookie: Feds should be renewed. Not Dead Yet will probably squeak a renewal as well. A Million Little Things wrapped for the final time, even with the previous week.

CBS announced SWAT was cancelled last week. The network and SONY, the company producing the series, couldn't come to terms with regard to transmission fees. The season/series finale will air on May 19. The cancellation may open the door for East New York and/or True Lies to get a renewal nod. The two freshman series are the only shows on the current schedule still awaiting news of their fate.

FOX announced the surprising cancellation of 9-1-1 last week. The good news for fans was the additional news the series would move to ABC for its seventh season. 9-1-1: Lone Star was renewed and will remain on FOX. Call Me Kat fans received the bad news that the comedy series was cancelled within hours of its season, and now the series, finale airing. Animal Control wrapped its first season, even with the previous week. It hasn't done well for the network, and its renewal is iffy at best.

Superman & Lois picked up one hundred thousand viewers to take the top spot last week. All American slipped as it lost two hundred thousand viewers. The Flash was down one hundred thousand viewers. Walker was even. Gotham Knights lost one hundred thousand viewers it couldn't afford, which may be another nail in its coffin.

The WGA strike entered its second week, and more productions felt the ripple effects. The late-night talk shows went to repeats last week. Saturday Night Live cancelled its remaining episodes for the season, and several shows that were in pre-production for the fall season announced last week that they are shutting down for the duration. So far, networks are planning to move forward with upfronts next week, however, if the Writer's strike lasts into June, and/or if SAG-AFTRA and the Directors Guild decide to strike when their contract expires June 30, the fall network television season will likely be delayed.
