NBC premiered two veteran comedies last week, St Denis Medical and Happy's Place. St Denis Medical opened, up four hundred thousand viewers from its finale in April. Happy's Place was down one hundred thousand viewers from its finale in March. New sports comedy series, Stumble, had a rough beginning. It lost one million viewers off the lead-in it had from Happy's Place, and will need to improve quickly if fans want to see a second season. Chicago Med and PD were each down a few hundred thousand viewers. Chicago Fire was even. None of them is in any danger. As long as Dick Wolf wants to produce them, NBC will air them. NBA basketball sank again last week, losing another six hundred thousand viewers. That contract is for ten more years, and it cost the network seventy-six billion dollars. This is not the ROI they wanted to see.

ABC had a quiet week. Shifting Gears and Abbott Elementary were pretty close to even with the previous week's numbers. Neither is in any danger and should be easy renewals for the network. 9-1-1 was up two hundred thousand viewers. That helped its spinoff, 9-1-1: Nashville, which was up three hundred thousand viewers. Grey's Anatomy was down one hundred thousand viewers. Shark Tank returned after a week off, down two hundred thousand viewers. Dancing with the Stars lost four hundred thousand viewers last week.

CBS enjoyed a hefty NFL overrun on Sunday night, which helped 60 Minutes to a big audience (its interview with President Donald Trump also didn't hurt). The ratings bump also helped Tracker to one of its biggest viewer nights. It was up almost a million viewers. The Road was up one hundred thousand viewers. All three NCIS shows saw gains last week, and all three will likely be renewed. DMV picked up two hundred thousand viewers. Watson has been at the bottom of the ratings chart all season, and things do not look good for its future. It picked up one hundred thousand viewers last week, but that might be too little too late to change minds in the executive offices. Elsbeth was even but also low. At least one of these two shows will probably be cancelled by the end of the season. Sheriff Country lost one hundred thousand viewers last week. Fire Country was up three hundred thousand viewers. Boston Blue was up two hundred thousand viewers.

FOX returned to Earth last week after enjoying a fantastic ratings run thanks to the World Series. The Sunday animation shows had a quiet night without the help of an NFL overrun to boost numbers. The Simpsons remained strong, pulling in more than a million viewers again last week. Bob's Burgers was up one hundred thousand viewers. Universal Basic Guys and Krapopolis were basically even with the previous week. Murder in a Small Town and Doc returned after a week off, each up a few tens of thousands of viewers.
