At his home office, psychologist Anthony Michaelson meets with a patient, Kevin Ridley, who doesn't see the point in going to school. Kevin refused to talk about school and, when given a choice, discusses fear. He says that Michaelson is afraid of something, and tells him to ask Alexander what he's afraid of.
