Damn! Such a brilliant cast, such a smashing performance, and a colorful, driven picture. And so much down the drain because one guy can’t keep it in his pants.
So why the episode and not the whole season:
In summer ‘24 multiple women came forward with allegations of sexual misconduct against Neil Gaiman, which he denied.
In September ‘24 Amazon completely paused pre-production in Scotland to figure out how to handle the future of the series.
In October ‘24 to save the show from outright cancellation, Gaiman offered to step back. Amazon decided to scrap the full season and condense the remaining story into a single 90-minute feature-length special.
Amazon chose not to cancel the series completely due to intense advocacy from the estate of the book's late co-author, Terry Pratchett. The estate and the production team pushed to give the fans proper narrative closure. This allowed the show to resolve the massive Season 2 cliffhanger without giving Gaiman a continuing executive role or production platform.
"And then Terry Pratchett rolled over in his grave".
For 38 years I read his books, and looked forward to TV shows based on them, but this episode is just blasphemy.
Weird of Amazon to still insist on calling this a season instead of a series finale special, but whatever lol
Someone added it by mistake. It's been deleted now. :)
Why is there another episode set for next week if this is the finale?
ahh A Movie only :o
I will take a 90 min movie but really wish we had a season.
