The Phoenix Foundation is working with Jerico Broadcasting, a major media conglomerate, to sponsor an international hockey exhibit in Los Angeles. MacGyver is representing the Foundation and visits an old friend, Sergei Litminov. Sergei introduces his friend to the top international player, Nikolai Rostov.
