"The Witcher" Renewed for Season 4 with Liam Hemsworth as the New Geralt of Rivia

It's awesome that The Witcher is renewed for yet another season, but the totally unexpected announcement that Henry Cavill is stepping down as Geralt left me dumbfounded. I like Liam Hemsworth as an actor, but Henry Cavill was so fitting for the role. He was simply brilliant! I don't know what to make of it yet. At least we'll get the chance to enjoy Henry Cavill as Geralt for the upcoming Season 3; that's something.

When at first I read the news, I thought it was an April Fools' joke and I laughed, but then I sadly realized it's Halloween, not April Fools! Sniff sniff! 😢🎃

aint no Joke... this is happening... they really should have Geralt leave and have another Member of the Order play as a Different Witcher instead of another Geralt..

My suggestion to the writers, that seem to be significantly departing from the story anyways. Which precipitated Henry's leaving in the first place. Would be to write Geralt leaving for blah blah. Don't kill him to leave the door open should there ever be a return. And have Hemsworth enter as another Witcher. There is no "one" Witcher. It is an order with many members. Well... multiple members.

Yeah with Cavill's departure so will I. For the same reasons that Cavill is leaving too. Fun fact: Cavill is a D&D and video-game NERD! To the point he builds his OWN gaming computers and recently completed a pretty decent build. He is a serious Witcher fan and has read all the books (I haven't) and plays the video game by CD PROJEKT RED as well as others. He has played all the games. There are currently 3 and Witcher III: The Wild Hunt I have over 350 hours into playing. Yes, I have lived in that world for some time now. I am sure between the 3 Witcher games Cavill has probably pushing a 1000 hours give er take. The Witcher series has been faithful to the books and games so far. A few liberties I didn't care for but all in all good. And you can play Geralt any way you want. The way Cavil plays Geralt on tv I have no doubt is similar to the way he plays him in game. Which I noted as the way he is portrayed on screen is very much how I played him. As often as you hack through a scenario Geralt will think through a challenge. Many times not killing a monster but identifying a curse and lifting it. You can just hack n kill your way through the game as it is open ended open world. But Cavil noted the way he portrayed and the way they wrote the tv Geralt was close to the books also. He basically indicated they are seriously departing the books so he chose to leave. As will I. After all this time, and the experience Cavill has plus his faithful portrayal. I trust Mr Cavill's judgement implicitly on this. I am sure Hemsworth is a good actor and will do a good job. But... If a studio doesn't want to make a series, then just make a new series and name it your own. Don't rewrite an existing genius series and ride on the established title to sell your own and different story.
