Martin Fisher

Martin Fisher is an American actor, singer, and martial artist originally from Camden, New Jersey. Martin Fisher appears in the Bob Dylan biopic, A Complete Unknown, written and directed by James Mangold and nominated for Best Picture. Upcoming roles include Dope Thief (AppleTV+), Stranglehold, along with leading roles in the films Pulpitum and Waiting for Aphrodite. He most recently performed at Lincoln Center under the direction of Mario Van Peebles in the multimedia stage play MVP, based on the life of Mario's father, the iconic film director, Melvin Van Peebles. In 2022, Martin joined the Broadway National Tour of My Fair Lady performing the role of Alfred P. Doolittle. He is the Winter 2023 cover artist for Classical Singer Magazine. He studied theater at the Black Arts Intensive founded by Stephen McKinley Henderson, Ruben Santiago-Hudson, Phylicia Rashad, Michele Shay and Sonia Sanchez at the Stella Adler School of Acting in New York, and holds a Bachelor of Arts from The University of Massachusetts in Amherst in with an Individual Concentration in Pre-Architecture: Theory and History.

Though focused on his acting career, Martin maintains a busy concert schedule, appearing in 2024 in Tosca with the New York City Opera, Madama Butterfly with Connecticut Lyric Opera, and Highway 1, USA with Festival of Music. He can be heard on the album Barrelhouse to Broadway, which won a Grammy Award for Best Producer.

Fisher's opera repertoire includes: Escamillo (Carmen), Valentin (Faust), Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor), Marcello (La Boheme), Sharpless (Madama Butterfly), Tonio (I Pagliacci), Scarpia (Tosca), Orest (Elektra), Crown(Porgy and Bess) as well as the great Verdi baritone roles of Germont (La Traviata), Amonasro (Aida), Miller (Luisa Miller), Count di Luna (Il Trovatore), and the title role in Rigoletto.

Martin has a black belt in Taekwondo.
